PUBLIC TRANSIT JUST FOUND A FRIEND

THE SCOOP

TransLoc, an app which allows the tracking and planning of public transportation routes, announced Monday that they will officially be partnering with Uber to allow their users the opportunity to plan their trips past the typical routes which a bus or train would limit them to.

THE DETAILS

This partnership is all about making your commute easier, with the end goal being to prove that a combination of public transportation and Uber is in fact easier than car ownership. By combining the two apps, a user will receive an “optimal” route to their destination based upon the available data.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE

Partnerships such as this can lead to big ideas, plus with so the majority of automakers making a push towards self driving cars we may be seeing a decline in car ownership much sooner than expected as well as the next best thing to a self driving car. The combined integration of TransLoc and Uber is expected to premier in Memphis, Tennessee and Raleigh / Durham, North Carolina in February.

TWITTER CONVERSATIONAL ADS

THE SCOOP

Twitter has found a new way and inventive way for marketers to run ads which is entirely unique to Twitter. With “Conversational Ads,” any promoted tweet can be accompanied by a call to action, promoting a specific hashtag, which will then allow your audience to retweet a pre-written message or write their own. Finally, the consumer will receive a “Thank You” message from the brand for re-tweeting the message, showing in their timeline and being displayed to their followers. Pretty sneaky Twitter.
